HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Ingredients

Yield: 6 servings

ONE STEP AT A TIME

Let’s make it

  1. Heat the oven to 350°F. Lightly butter a 9-inch square baking dish.
  2. Toss the sliced apples with granulated sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, and 1 tablespoon flour. Spread evenly in the baking dish.
  3. In a separate bowl, stir together the oats, ½ cup flour, brown sugar, and salt.
  4. Rub the cold butter into the oat mixture with your fingertips until it forms coarse, uneven crumbs.
  5. Scatter the topping evenly over the apples. Bake for 40–45 minutes, until the topping is golden and the apples are tender when pierced.
  6. Let rest for 15 minutes so the juices thicken slightly. Serve warm, with ice cream if desired.

Storing & reheating

Refrigerate cooled leftovers in a covered container for up to 3 days. Reheat individual portions until hot.
