  • Two ribeye steaks 1.5 inches thick
  • Canola oil as required
  • Montreal Steak Seasoning or your preferred steak seasoning can make any steak taste better!
  • Pellets of wood hickory or the flavor you like

Instructions
 

Preparation:

  • Cut off any fat excess off the edges of the ribeye steaks. Trim off any excess fat.
  • The side of each steak with oil from canola to ensure that they stay succulent and form a nice crust when grilling.
  • Sprinkle both sides of each steak thoroughly by rubbing them with Montreal Steak Seasoning. Allow them to sit in the refrigerator at room temp for around 15 minutes so that they can absorb the flavor.

Preheat the Grill:

  • Set the temperature of your Traeger grill at 325 degrees, then heat it up with the lid shut to cook for about 15 mins. This ensures that the grill is at the ideal temperature to cook evenly.

Grilling:

  • The steaks should be placed directly onto the grill's grates.
  • Inject a temperature gauge into the fattest part of a steak, taking care to avoid the bone and fat pockets.
  • Shut off the lid, and flip the dish every 6 minutes until the internal temperature is the 132degF mark for medium-rare. It takes about 14-20 minutes.

Notes

Serving:
When the steaks have reached the temperature they desire, Remove them from the grill.
Allow the steaks to rest for a while to let the juices disperse.
